Get Travel Ready to Holiday
Hand Luggage Essentials:
- Don’t forget your passport and visas!

- Pack some snacks and chocolates for the journey.
- Have an itinerary for your travel arrangements handy.
- Bring books, magazines, or guidebooks for exploring.
- Keep airline tickets and hotel documents in your hand luggage.
- Don’t forget your camera, mobile phone, or MP3 player.
- Pack a sweatshirt or jumper in case it gets chilly on board.
- Bring credit cards and a driving license if necessary.
Main Luggage Checklist:
- Pack appropriate clothes, shoes, and underwear.
- Don’t forget sunglasses, a jacket or rain mac, and a hat or cap.

Planning Before You Travel:
- Ensure that you and your party have the necessary medication or vaccinations.
- Check that you have a valid visa or completed your ESTA application if traveling to North America, and that your passport has at least six months validity remaining.
- Make sure everyone in your party has a travel Insurance with correct details, and check the Foreign official website for any travel advisories.
- Book taxis or car parking at the airport ahead of time.
- Bring foreign exchange: currency and travellers’ cheques.
- Consider buying a guide book for your destination.
- Make copies of travel documents, passports, driving licenses, visas, and insurance policies and leave them with a trusted relative or friend.
- Give a relative or friend your house keys and contact details.
- Ensure a trusted neighbor has the details for your house alarm company, if necessary.
- Unplug relevant electrical appliances and turn off mains water if traveling in winter.
- Lock all windows and doors securely.
- Check with your airlines or transport provider for any restrictions on checked baggage, such as power banks, e-cigarettes, lighters, or party poppers.
